Tayang

Geography videos, flown over a picture-book globe

Map videos get watched twice: once for the fact, once to look at the map. Tayang picks one surprising geographic fact a day and shows it on an animated globe.

Topics

Videos your geography series might post

  1. 01Why Chile is so long and thin
  2. 02Lesotho, the country completely surrounded by another
  3. 03Why ships from England to India sailed around Africa
  4. 04How big Greenland really is
  5. 05The country with the most neighbours

Tayang plans a backlog of new topics for your series and never repeats one. Add your own, skip any you don't want, or move one to the front.

How it's made

How Tayang makes geography videos

Each video flies over a picture-book atlas to the place it's about, draws the border, route or coastline, and sends a ship, caravan or plane along it. Places are real, looked up and drawn where they are.

Topics work at the scale of a world map: a country's odd shape or true size, a border that follows a river, a strait that changed trade. Numbers are rounded the way an atlas would round them.

Picture-book atlas art style

Every video keeps to

  • Real places, drawn where they are
  • One fact the map can show
  • Numbers rounded like an atlas

Questions about geography videos

Are the maps accurate?
The globe uses real coastlines and borders, and Tayang looks up every place before drawing it, so a route runs where it really ran.
Can it show a city or a small island?
Not well. The map works at the scale of countries, so it leaves out anything smaller than about 100 km.
Where do the videos post?
TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels, at the times you set. Approve each video first, or let it post on its own.
Do I need to edit anything?
No. Tayang writes the script, illustrates every scene, records the voiceover, adds word-by-word captions and music, and renders a 1080 × 1920 video ready to post.

Your first geography video can be ready in about five minutes.
